About the AGBC Chapter Frankfurt
Dear AGBC Frankfurt members and friends,
Our chapter, located in Germany’s most international city, is the biggest AGBC group. We are a business-oriented networking group, with a strong emphasis on discussing today’s major economic and political issues in a non-partisan and friendly atmosphere.
We hold regular luncheons or dinners at different hotels featuring a guest speaker. The AGBC also holds informal Networking Nights at different locations around town. Newcomers are welcome and no RSVP is required.
Recent speakers have included James Herman, U.S.Consul General in
Frankfurt; Dr Jackson Janes, President of the American Institute for
Contemporary German Studies at the Johns Hopkins University in Washington,
DC and Woodward Price, Minister Counselor for Economic Affairs for the US
Government. Such talks are accompanied by short Question-&-Answer sessions
with the audience, time permitting.
An emphasis for our chapter is the educational "Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow“ program, aimed at young German and American students aged 16 to 21. They learn to write business plans to develop their own ideas. These young people receive training during monthly mentoring sessions with local business executives. In addition to learning Business English, the students compete for cash prizes.
Our Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (EOT) program hopes to attract even more support for German-American relations. Addressing the younger generation, we are now in the seventh year of this educational program, which is free of charge for all participants.
The support of our members and their companies are the network which makes all of this possible. We encourage you to join us. All AGBC meetings and events are held in English, even though less than half of us are native English speakers. And - don't be misled by the name - the AGBC is open to all nationalities who share our goals.
The Frankfurt chapter is also active socially, offering golf tournaments at different golf clubs, bowling evenings, and even Rheingau Music Festival concerts each season. Such informal social events are a good way to cement friendships and also make new friends, another attraction of the AGBC.
In addition to our programs, members of the AGBC have access to a newly revised on-line Business Directory on this website (www.agbc.de). Your annual dues for both individuals and corporations offer the best value-for-money deal in town.
Since the AGBC is 100% voluntary, we are only as good as our membership. We are always looking for those who want to get involved in contributing to their community as well as meet other professionals. Come join us.
President, AGBC Frankfurt e.V.
